In a context where Burundi is actively working to boost its economy and encourage local entrepreneurship, Come and Meet Your Business Partner (CMBP) serves as a strategic platform connecting investors, entrepreneurs, financial institutions, and technical partners.
Launched in 2021 by Ezéchiel Hatungimana, CEO of U-Invest, the conference addresses a key challenge: linking promising business ideas with investors seeking credible projects.
While rooted in Burundi, CMBP is designed with a broader vision. After its first 10 editions, the conference will expand to be hosted in different countries, strengthening regional integration, attracting international participation, and positioning CMBP as a pan-African platform for entrepreneurship, investment, and business partnerships.
CMBP acts as a catalyst for entrepreneurship and investment by creating a trusted space where ideas, resources, and expertise meet. The event fosters direct dialogue, increases project visibility, and supports the structuring of business initiatives. Each edition features conferences, panels, hands-on workshops, pitch sessions, and networking opportunities — all designed to build a more connected, collaborative, and future-oriented business ecosystem.
CMBP aims to stimulate investment and support Burundi’s economic growth. Its specific objectives include promoting investment opportunities, mobilizing the diaspora, strengthening local entrepreneurship, connecting entrepreneurs with financial institutions, structuring value chains, and fostering local and international partnerships.
The conference contributes to the sustainable strengthening of links between investors, entrepreneurs, and financial institutions, the valorization of innovative ideas, increased capital mobilization, and the emergence of projects with significant economic and social impact. It also establishes follow-up mechanisms to ensure continuity and sustainability of initiatives launched.
CMBP is designed for entrepreneurs, SMEs, startups, local and international investors, financial institutions, diaspora members, incubators, government authorities, technical partners, and diplomats. The goal is to bring together all key economic actors to create strategic connections and foster inclusive and sustainable development.
